D'ussé Cognac Bottle Engraving
It is quite often that I am engaged to engrave for wine and spirit companies. There is a difference in the feel of an engraving event for spirits vs beauty brands. Both are fun in their individual ways. I find that spirit events are quite laid-back as the spirit is that of fun and relaxation. In comparison, the feeling with beauty brands is usually around luxurious exclusivity. Both are can be quite nice and welcomed. This particular event for D’ussé cognac exuded the feeling of relaxation and acceptance of all. I have an immense amount of respect for those that are able to convey that feeling of leisure and acceptance. There is an art to providing that feeling to others with grace. The D’ussé team understood this exceptionally well.
At this event, I was asked to engrave family names into the glass of the cognac bottles as they were to be given to various families as gifts. This name looked quite beautiful upon engraving as the “M” is one of my favorites. The flourish extending from the “s” is not my preferred letter from which to flourish as the exit stroke on this “s” is in the middle of the letter. However, it still allows for a basic flourish on the exit. I rather liked it and I hope that the recipient loved it as well.
